I live in Tunbridge Wells with my partner and my fox red labrador Pooky. I've been practising yoga for 13 years and began my 200h yoga teacher training in 2021 with Triyoga in London, under the guidance of the wonderful Anna Ashby and Tony Watson. When not practising yoga or walking Pooky, I enjoy many other forms of exercise; netball, circuits, pilates, TRX and paddle-boarding.
When I began my training I spoke to many friends who wanted to try yoga but felt it wasn't for them. They were intimidated that they couldn't touch their toes, or didn't look the part. Making them feel comfortable in a yoga class became my mission. To break down the poses so they became accessible, to allow space for people to ask questions and to practice without the pressure to do it perfectly.
My beginners classes are taught from my home studio in Tunbridge Wells, in Kent on Tuesday evenings and Friday mornings. Each class has a specific focus - a category of poses, a specific anatomical cue or a philosophy. Classes are workshop based, I use props to help students learn poses in a safe way and we have a good giggle as we practice the poses together.
